A personal trainer and five clients performing a press-up exercise on a park bench

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some of the most common questions that people want to know:

Where will the sessions take place?

Benefits of training outdoors

Many clients like to train in the fresh air. This blows away the cobwebs, provides some vitamin D in the summer and exposes you to natural light which many see as a natural anti-depressant. I typically use Court Recreation Ground in Epsom alongside other local parks and green spaces.

Benefits of training indoors

Other people prefer the benefits of training indoors. I offer a private studio space which provides privacy, a range of equipment and protection from the elements or darker evenings. It is entirely up to you which option fits with your preferences. Often clients mix and match depending on the season or to add variety to their sessions.

What do I need to wear for my sessions?
For each session you need to wear comfortable exercise clothing (you are likely to get hot and sweaty even if we are training outside). In cold weather, wearing layers is a good option so you can add and remove clothing during the warm up/ down. Please ensure you are wearing trainers which are supportive and well fitted.
What equipment do I need to bring?
A bottle of water. Staying hydrated is vital during all exercise sessions. You may also wish to bring a small towel for when you are getting hot and sweaty.
How difficult will the sessions be?
Sessions will be tailored to your individual needs, however, each session will be designed to push your boundaries and give you a good workout. Therefore, expect to work hard at every session, although you will never be pushed to go further than you are able.
How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions you need will depend on your individual goal and this can be discussed at the initial free consultation. My philosophy is to give you the tools to train yourself, and I am happy to design session plans which you can complete in your own time either throughout our training programme or once your programme has ended.
Can I do my sessions online?
Yes! Online sessions are just as challenging as face to face sessions and the same dedication and care is taken to provide varied and fun sessions with whatever equipment you have at hand. You can achieve a brilliant workout without any equipment at all and will not be expected to purchase any additional equipment should you choose this option.
Can I bring my dog?
Of course! If we are training in the park, bring your four legged friend along for the fun.
What if I need to cancel a session?
I require a minimum of 12 hours notice of cancellation. Notice of less than 12 hours will be charged at the full session rate.
